Amazon is seeking an experienced and detail oriented Engineering Program Manager to support project planning and execution for the continued capacity expansion of the North American Core Fulfilment network.
The primary role of this individual in this Project Management team is to drive capacity projects to completion keeping them on schedule.
Successful candidates will be natural self-starters with Engineering project management experience working with each phase of the project life cycle including requirements, fulfillment design, planning, execution, and hand off.
This individual will work with Capacity Planning to validate project requests, work with Engineering Design to coordinate proposals and milestone schedules, work with Procurement to help release purchase orders, work with field teams to coordinate kick off meetings and any project phasing, and work on mitigating any project risks.
This individual needs experience in leading meetings with a variety of technical and non-technical teams, leading vendor scorecard meetings to manage their performance, managing and maintaining project trackers and provide weekly status updates to leadership teams and all the working teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilitate/run weekly alignment meetings on network projects as well as program specific updates Escalate milestone level project issues that are impacting project schedules Initiate/facilitate major project kick-offs and support handoff from planning teams to execution teams Drive/follow up on milestone level delays Facilitate/run Material Handling vendor PM scorecard calls for both network and site specific projects Manage vendor relationships and performance (Material Handling, Storage, etc.) Partner with critical planning teams on project milestones (Real Estate, Capacity, Capital, Design, Startup, Robotics) Inputs and coordination with Real Estate construction, Robotics, and Material Handling vendors on First Access details Update/maintain weekly network Engineering Project Tracker, and support Resource tracking Support Build Plan presentations Report out bi-weekly engineering project updates to Senior Leadership, planning, and execution teams Review Material Handling and Storage proposals for acceptable milestone schedules Inputs and support on better Project Management tools and processes Miscellaneous support tasks (work orders, invoice issues, tracker printouts, etc.) Ability to travel up to 25%Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Experience leading projects and interacting with cross-functional teams 5-7 years of experience in complex project management and implementation with proven ability to design workable solutions and drive projects to successful implementation Experience leading large scale programs Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office including Project and Excel Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
