Electrician

Allied Reliability Group

This is a Contract position in Malheur County, OR posted June 11, 2020.

Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery.

As well as equipment and supports the general maintenance function by performing the following duties.

Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines, and specialized potato-processing equipment such as conveyors, and programmable logic controllers.

Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables, and wires between machines and equipment.

Shall have proven and demonstrated history of responsible and safe electrical work, and possess a strong knowledge of NEC safety standards, and other associated standards and codes.

Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.

Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance employees, (General Maintenance, Pump Mechanics and Electronics) to diagnose malfunction.

Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, motors, and positions sensing devices as appropriate or necessary.

Diagnoses, repairs, or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.

Reads blueprints and all types of electrical schematics.

Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors as necessary or required.

Operates equipment to test for malfunctions and to verify repairs.

Plans layout of wiring, installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.

Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.

Must own and maintain the minimum required quality and quantity of personal hand tools for use on the job as instructed by your supervisor.

Education And/or Experience Active participation in the apprenticeship program (grade 10/11).

Preferred Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school (Grade 12).

Hold current Journeyman Electrical License from the State or Oregon, or a State with license reciprocity with the State of Oregon (Grade 13).

Hold current Oregon State General Supervisory License (Grade 14).

Local master of record.

Hold a current Oregon General Supervisory License to act as a liaison with the State of Oregon electrical inspectors.

Filing Electrical Inspection Requests, communications with inspectors, coordinating inspections, and signing off on electrical department testing applications (Grade 14).

Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general-public.

Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane, and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical, or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Incumbent pay grade will align with the individual’s credentials.

Incumbent must get and maintain a valid equipment operator’s license with a Lift Truck and Platform/Scissor Lift endorsement within thirty days of starting the bid.

Incumbent must have a valid driver’s license.
