We are an electrical engineering company that works with customers in the commercial, industrial, aerospace, and military sectors, located in between Los Angeles, CA and San Diego, CA. Our engineering expertise is vital to customers with unique performance or environmental needs and we are able to develop products to meet those specific customer needs.

Due to recent growth, we are looking to add a new electrical engineer, with an aerospace background and who has an active security clearance or who is able to obtain one, to develop electrical products and systems in alignment with customer needs. Our ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, self-management abilities, and will be able to effectively collaborate with colleagues across many diverse project teams to develop electrical systems to meet our clients needs.

What You Will Be Doing

In this role, you will be responsible for tracking jobs, checking work, and will interact with both clients and production teams to design and implement products in adherence to client expectations and safety guidelines and use use mathematics, scientific, and electrical engineering principles to design, repair and improve aerospace components parts.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of cable and wire harness detail assembly designs, the analysis of test and process results, the performance of design reviews, and will offer expert engineering insight to troubleshoot inconsistencies to develop the appropriate specifications and procedures to support and improve the design and manufacturing of electrical components.

You may also be asked to complete other tasks within the job scope such as:

  • document processes
  • complete technical reviews of supplier proficiency to ease source selection
  • perform and create testing methods and parameters to validate the functionality of electrical components and systems
  • design test equipment and assembly inspection fixtures
  • perform systems level testing (i.e. CCA testing)
  • troubleshoot electrical failures and offer rework instructions and/or redesign
  • wire harness and controller production support
  • assist technicians on the shop floor
  • train and supervise technicians in project completion

What You Need for this Position

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education and work experience
  • 5+ years experience working in a manufacturing or engineering organization, preference given for aerospace industry
  • Background in product management/development or business development
  • Previous knowledge & use of Auto Cad, Solid works, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft wiring & components (i.e. connectors, back shells, conduits, relays, switches, terminal junction systems, controllers, CCAs, etc.)
  • Familiarity of quality concepts & aerospace standards (i.e. IPC, AS9100, NADCAP)
  • Working knowledge and understanding of electrical schematics and ability to troubleshoot failures
  • Strong understanding of wire harness electrical/manufacturing processes & the ability to form board drawings
  • Knowledge of EMI & Shielding Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen as defined by ITAR requirements, and able to obtain required authorizations from the US Department of State

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with composites
  • Fluency in Spanish (in addition to English)
  • Experience in multiple sectors such as commercial, industrial, aerospace & military
