Under limited direction, plan and coordinate the full range of general management functions associated with a physical plant operation including supervision and direction of the maintenance of buildings, utilities, mechanical equipment, transportation, grounds, and construction.
Scheduling of campus facilities and the maintaining and storage of campus records is also under this position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Involves leadership role such as occasional directing of others to complete assignments, others may include work study students, temporary support, part time staff, or other individuals temporarily assigned in one’s area of responsibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Design, establish and maintain staffing and an organization structure to effectively accomplish the department functions Provide leadership and direction in all aspects of administering the facilities departments Plan with architects, engineers, safety personnel, OSHA personnel, and other outside agencies Advise the University administration on the funding needs to adequately maintain the physical facilities of the institution Develop and manage annual budgets for the organization and perform periodic cost and productivity analyses Ensure ongoing preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment, buildings and vehicles Maintain campus records and archives per state regulations Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Education and/or Experience: A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of seven years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the duties specified are required.
Supervisory experience required.
