As the Director, Multi Cloud Architect you are a demonstrated leader with passion for and expertise in ensuring architectural design accelerates innovation across apps, devices and people in a secure manner.

You see security and compliance as an enabler and differentiator to enable the business through innovation.

You work with the business to understand tools, trends and patterns within the software architecture community with a heavy forward lean on utilization of Public Cloud Services and engineering modern software.

You collaborate and innovate with other security groups within Capital One Software to push the envelope and drive consensus through influence.

Responsibilities:Establish strategic security architecture direction for cloud service adoption, including standards and frameworks that are aligned with overall business strategyServe as the Multi Cloud Architect leader for the Software Information Security Office providing guidance, coordination, governance for security design, patterns and solution review to ensure cyber functions are well managedDevelop architecture roadmaps for delivering new capabilities when multiple dependencies need to be managedBuild your team to provide top-notch information security, architecture and governance management expertise and guidancePartner with cross functional technical teams and key stakeholders to gain buy in and influence adoptionFoster shared understanding of current and emerging security threats and risks and identify capabilities and solution patterns to mitigate those security threats and risksProvide regular updates to executive leadership on security risks related to the overall architecture and design environment About You:You have a desire to work in a very fast moving, forward leaning, modern computing environmentYou are a Cloud Architecture Subject Matter Expert with a solid command of multiple cyber functions with the ability to manage technical security risks, compliance, governance, and privacyYou have a deep passion for prioritizing and managing information security risks and initiativesYou have experience in a regulated industry environment and meeting compliance objectivesYou have a solid understanding of KRI’s, KPI’s, cyber metrics development & operationalizationYou have a good understanding of developing & managing lean processesYou have a strong desire to continually learn about new technologies and continuous improvementYou possess strong critical and conceptual thinking, problem solving skillsYou are proactive and innovative in your thought processYou have a proven ability to effectively assess and discern important elements amongst large and diverse sets of informationYou have a proven ability to effectively present complex information in a impactful and meaningful way that drives effective action and decision makingYou have strong written and verbal communication skills with effective executive presenceYou are able to work well under minimal supervisionYou are driven to build an effective team and communicate your strategic visionYou are a demonstrated leader with team-oriented interpersonal skills and the ability to interface effectively with a broad range of people and roles, including upper management, IT leaders, auditors, and technology vendorsYou maintain calmness and clarity of thought under pressure and are able to maintain confidentialityYou have a deep understanding of strategic business objectives and the ability to drive results toward those objectivesYou have the ability to describe the risks of a security exposure or vulnerability in business-impact terms Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or Military experienceAt least 7 years of experience in cybersecurityAt least 5 years of experience in securing cloud environmentsAt least 5 years of experience building and leading technical teams Preferred Qualifications:Master’s Degree10+ years of experience with implementing architecture for a cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)7+ years experience in a regulated environment2+ years experience in the financial services industryExperience achieving security architecture compliance on requirements, including SOC2, PCI, HIPAA, ISO, NIST CSF, Cloud Controls Matrix, and/or other security or compliance management frameworksCertified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) or AWS certification At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
