You will play a major role here in the creation and development of these technologies, and our success will depend on you!

As an Enterprise Architect, you will be a technical architecture and strategy leader working with our most important strategic product offerings both in cloud and on-device.

You will be a part of a virtual team of Algorithms, Bioinformatics, AI/ML, Hardware, technical, partner and consulting resource to advance customer opportunities and engagements, helping them deliver on their outcomes while achieving sales/consumption targets across our BLI cloud and on-device technologies.

You will craft technology architectures from BLI’s composable platforms and help customers along the journey toward their success in building, deploying, and adopting those solutions.

You should be an excellent communicator and be comfortable working with customers both internally and externally.

Responsibilities
Enterprise grade delivery with hands-on experience developing systems that leverage multiple cloud services including serverless functions, data storage, data security, Rest API etc., Understand the existing on-prem technology landscape & implementations and recommend the best strategy & solutions to deliver on cloud.

Design and build large scale data storage, compute, and distribution systems.

Identify, evaluate, and deploy new technical architectures in support of our corporate goals and strategic roadmap.

Evaluate, select, and implement new tools and frameworks to expand our platform capabilities.

Provide data, AI/ML, SW engineers and researchers with technical advice and guidance on the best data practices.

Build relationships and partner with core architecture & engineering teams across Berkeley Lights.

Keep up to date with developments in the industry and use that to drive prototyping new platform capabilities.

Ability to translate discovery findings and present transformative enterprise-wide cloud solutions to influence change at an organization.

Knowledge and understanding of enterprise integration concepts including web services, encryption services and middleware technologies.

Knowledge and understanding of software and infrastructure security along with proficiency in cloud security concepts such as risk mitigation, data privacy and regulatory compliance frameworks.

Lead workshops, proofs-of-concept, etc.

and provide expertise on prototypes and MVPs to help prove to our customers the capabilities of BLI’s solutions and services in Bio-tech scenarios and use cases.

Share your learning, expertise, and experiences with our broad group of stakeholders, including extended customer account teams, sales/success leaders, BLI business and technical leaders, engineering teams, product management and marketing teams.

Effectively communicate to leadership and other various levels of the organization
Qualifications
M.S.

or Ph.D.

in Computer Science or STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) 12+ years of experience with deploying enterprise cloud services, platforms, and data solutions.

Proven experience of creating architecture designs using a formal architecture framework methodology.  Experience in Cloud, DevOps, CI/CD, and application development concepts Experience in data concepts such as data management, data lake & data mesh Experience in architecture conceptual, logical & physical levels Experience in taking software products through HIPPA, FDA and/or global regulatory approvals.

Experience with R&D/Medical & Scientific processes and in delivering technical solutions for these functions including knowledge of procedures with validated system.

Technical depth and domain expertise with cloud operations, site reliability, GCP or AWS or Azure operations Strong communication skills & Negotiation skills, long term, and strategic thinking without losing the actual needs, teamwork, and fast integration into bigger teams.

Desired Qualifications
Certification in cloud architecture is a plus.

Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets in healthcare/life sciences industry.

Technical depth in: Product Development, User Experience, Cloud Computing, Hardware, Software, and image processing.
