The Role
FFIO (Fidelity Funds & Investment Operations) is actively seeking an expert data architect to help us deliver our next generation application platforms as the organization migrates its operational workloads to the public cloud.
You will be responsible for developing data architecture, data blueprints, hands on data modeling, design, data movement, master data management, analytics and enabling data science.
FFIO provides accounting and investment management support services for over 6,000 retail and institutional mutual funds and other retail and institutional investment products servicing over $2.7 trillion of assets under management using ~250 IT applications.
These services include calculating and distributing NAVs, distribution rates and yields; preparing fund financial statements, dividend estimates and tax returns; supervising delivery of fund trades to custodian banks; reconciliation; calculating fund performance and attributions; main data management and more.

The Expertise and Skills You Have
Must Have Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong personal leadership and collaborative skills, combined with comprehensive, practical experience and knowledge in the Data Management and strategy domain
- Proven willingness to understand the business being served and apply the accurate technical solutions to enable successful achievement of its goals and objectives
- Experience working with and deploying systems which incorporate Master Data Manage (MDM) principles, patterns, and tools
- Detailed understanding of leading data modeling principles and patterns
- Data Architectural expertise in project, product, and cross product technology strategy
- Experience working with data analysis, migration, and modeling tools (e.g.
ER/Win, Power Designer, ERStudio)
- Data Warehouse design concepts, data warehouse reference models, ETL tools
- The ability to clearly communicate sophisticated technical ideas, regardless of the technical capacity of the audience
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills including written, verbal, and technology illustrations
- The capability to establish and promote technology and data strategy
- An understanding of technology costs (e.g.
level of effort, infrastructure costs, etc.) and the ability to model their implications based on recommended architectures
- Experience using Fidelity preferred technologies: Oracle DB, Informatica, PL/SQL
- Skills and Knowledge considered a plus, but not required:
- Experience using leading industry standard technologies.
Examples include: Oracle Database, Oracle Business Intelligence (BI), Informatica PowerCenter, Oracle VM, Control-M, Tableau, GoldenGate, OBIEE, IBM DB2, IBM Mainframe
- Software Development experience (Java, C++, C, .Net, PL/SQL, Web Services)
- Experience / Familiarity with cloud architecture
- Thought leadership in recommending strategic options and strategy formation
- Outstanding background in modern data technology and overall systems architecture
- Advise and govern the work of a geographically diverse technical staff
