Deputy Chief Architect with Security Clearance

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications Experimentation Laboratory (C2BMC X-Lab) is a very fast paced and dynamic environment. The X-Lab is responsible for developing and integrating future capability prototypes for the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) including Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development and other critical leading-edge missile defense technologies. As the X-Labs Deputy Chief Architect, you will be responsible for driving value delivery of a complex missile defense command and control experimental systems. The candidate responsibilities include but are not limited to: – Contribute to Functional/Domain technical strategy and roadmaps. – Direct customer interaction in matters of SW architecture scope and needs
– Lead the derivation of all SW architecture related requirements, fielded and future baselines
– Lead / provide technical guidance to Development (DEV) SW Architects, DEV Leadership and Product Owners. – Ensure successful resolution of cross-domain/function technical issues. – Perform trade studies and analysis for current and future C2BMC development activities – Develop automation plans using cost-effective delivery technologies in support of major program strategies
– Establish and brief the proposed Iteration tasks and the associated system software architecture
– Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of technologies, planning, design, and analysis methodologies
– Oversee the development of all X-Lab task and associated C2BMC software design documentation
– Identify risks related to proposed architectural changes on all Software baselines
– Provide solution to risks and brief the Leadership, Customer and End user
– Analyze system performance to include quantifying performance parameters, identifying bottlenecks, and measuring throughput – Provide recommended improvements to the Software Development Environment (SDE) and DevOps pipelines – Support briefings, presentations and demonstrations to Leadership, customer and end users Learn more about our capabilities Basic Qualifications:
– Position requires an ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE
– Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.
– Must have at least 5 years’ experience leading and managing cross functional teams in the development and integration of distributed, real-time software systems. – Demonstrated experience in performing stakeholder management in a large, complex Development program. – Leadership experience with full life cycle development on large, integrated DoD systems, including requirements development and interpretation, design, implementation and test, fielding and maintenance. – Demonstrated experience specifying customer needs and managing customer priorities.
Desired Skills:
– Experience with Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS), C2BMC, or interface elements of C2BMC.
– Experience working with a DoD customer to perform formal Peer Reviews.
– Experience working on Research and Development projects.
– Software architecture and distributed systems design and implementation.
– Experience performing trade studies and analysis across software engineering disciplines. – Hands on application development experience in the use of the Java (or similar structured programming languages). – Able to communicate complex technical topics, coherently to leadership and the customer
– Able to lead and work independently and without supervision.
– Work in a highly dynamic, fast pace environment- Candidate must be a self-started who is able to initiate research and document results.
– Candidate must be willing to travel as applicable for the job scope.
– Must have AGILE development experience
