Data Center Tech – Round Rock, TX

Set, assemble and configure network data racks including: cutting floor tiles, route cables through pathways, configure PDUs, install servers, switches and routers. No fiber cable installation or software configuration of servers/switches. Inventory and decommission existing racks, securely pack and wrap equipment for relocation. Audit data server cabinets/racks input findings in DCIM tool and/or Microsoft Excel. Professional, attention to detail, conscientious about quality and quick learner. Some data center experience necessary.

Position Details:

• Standard work hours: Mon-Fri 8:00am – 5:00pm (OT as needed)
• Must have proof of U.S. Citizenship due to Client’s security clearance requirements
• Data center experience required with understanding of data center protocols and acceptable behavior
• Travel requirements: Meet at warehouse for daily work assignments. Must have own transportation between campus locations supporting 3 large client data centers and 2 smaller data centerswithin a 15 mile radius of each other. May visit visit 1-2+ sites per day.
• MVR Required

Responsibilities:

• On-site support at client premises performing tasks such as hardware deployment, and decommissions.
• Physically install network assets (i.e. switches, routers, firewalls, network tools & testing devices) in network data center cabinets.
• Inventory, decommission racks.
• Audit and record in Nlyte tool.
• Perform clean-up and survey work as needed.

Education Requirements:

• High school / GED or equivalent required.

• Associate degree or Certification in a technology services/technical discipline, or equivalent work experience preferred

Experience Requirements:

• 1+ year of data center experience
• More experienced than smarthands – Nonsupervisor
• Must have abiliity to frequently exert force equivalent to lifting up to approximately 50 pounds and/or occasionally exert force equivalent to lifting up to approximately 100 pounds.

Other Qualifications, Skills & Certifications:

• Day-to-day field installation and decommission experience
• Valid Driver’s license & a dependable vehicle is required.
