Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
The position is a broad-based civil/structural engineering position that includes activities of project execution/oversight in the field of coastal and civil engineering (storm water system improvements, marsh restoration, flood risk reduction, and levee protection).
Specific responsibilities are expected to include:
● Conduct the design process for various coastal restoration, flood mitigation, and storm water projects from conceptual design to detailed designs including plans, specifications and construction documents.
● Perform project management activities in a lead role being responsible for scope, budget and schedule working in close coordination with project team, sub-consultants and client.
● Define numerical modeling needs for engineering projects; provide guidance to the numerical modeling team and QA/QC numerical modeling results.
● Participate in strategic planning and business development activities to grow our Engineering Practice.
● Assist with project proposals and selection presentations.
Basic Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
● Work/study experience in a coastal, flood mitigation and/or storm water engineering.
● Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the state of Louisiana or the ability to obtain licensing within 3 months of hire.
● Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication skills suitable to a consulting environment.
● Demonstrated ability to fluently communicate in spoken and written English.
● Have the ability to handle multiple assignments efficiently and effectively.
Preferred Experience:
● Graduate degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
● Stormwater pump station design experience.
● Structural design curriculum background.
● Road design experience.
● Sewerage lift station hydraulic design experience.
● Experience with business development activities.
