Job Description: The Staff Architect works with business and technology leadership to understand the holistic business strategy and then works with product managers, senior technologists, and business analysts to identify, define, and develop solution specific, cloud-native, IT architectures and product deliverables to support the strategy.

This is a critical, highly visible and strategic leadership role within the company that has the potential to drive significant business impact.The Staff Architect also leads, and actively participates in, the design and hands-on development of incubation and innovation projects including prototyping, proof-of-concepts, new enterprise technology components, and the delivery of products to market.

Job ResponsibilitiesWork with product managers, domain architects and engineers to develop modern, high-performing, cloud-native software architectures.

The nature of these project will vary from enterprise platform component development to new product development and existing product re-platforming initiatives to cloud-native architectures.Drive incubation and innovation projects including the prototyping and development of proof-of-concepts and delivery of new technology components and products to marketProvide hands-on engineering support including software development/coding, 3rd party tool analysis, provisioning and configuration.Development of architectural patterns that define best practices for software design and development as well as recommended use of enterprise technologies and services.Establish standards, Adhere to Enterprise Technology directions and Provide architectural governance across the organization.Partner with Product Management to drive Agile delivery of both existing and new offeringsDrive technology alignment, leverage, and synergy across the organization ensuring that engineering teams are aware of and aligned with each others activities in order to maximize efficiency and reduce expenseDevelop and communicate business/technology alignment, architectures and plans to executive team, staff, partners, customers, and stakeholdersDevelop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for technology spending and initiativesEnsure Platforms and Services meet SLA requirementsCoordinator of engagement with technology partners, vendors and 3rd partiesWhat are the requirements?

Years of experience: At least 12 years of recent experience in software engineering role with the ability to write code today.

Education:BSCS, BSEE or equivalent,MSCS preferred Physical requirements:What critical skills are needed for you to consider someone for this position?At least 12 years of recent experience in software engineering role with the ability to write code today.

Demonstrable ability to develop software, write and test code via modern programming languages and deploy cloud-native solutions.At least 5 years of experience working as a Senior Architect with proven ability to develop modern, cloud-native architectures for e-commerce scale, SaaS-based productsAt least 4 years analyzing business and technical requirements and data and working with project leadership to formulate cloud-native application architectures and plans for executionExperience working with High Performance Distributed Computing Systems in public and private cloud environmentsUnderstands open-source eco-systems and its players.

Contribution to open source is a strong plusExperience with Big Data/Micro Service based Systems, SaaS, PaaS, and ArchitecturesExperience with AWS (or Azure) native development, Spark, Spark Streaming, RDBMS, NoSql Databases, In-Memory caches, distributed computing, Kafka, OLAP stores, etc.Full Stack Experience (End to End Development).

Experience Developing Systems in Java, Python, Go, Linux/UnixProven planning skills and the ability to work with limited supervision and as part of an executive teamArticulate and polished communicator both through oral and in written formExperience coordinating and leading distributed teams of varying size and skill set and working with or as part of an executive team/matrixed organizationSuperior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilitiesWhat other skills/experience would be helpful to have?Healthcare experience is a plus, knowledge of healthcare security standards is a plus (HIPAA, HiTRUST)How much should I expect to travel?10%Employees in roles that require travel will need to be able to qualify for a company credit card or be able to use their own personal credit card for travel expenses and submit for reimbursement.
