Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Bombers and Fighters Division, is seeking an Associate Structural Analysis Engineer (Level 2) to join the 777x Commercial Aircraft Program team located in Berkeley, MO.

As an Associate Structural Analysis Engineer you will be performing strength, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis for the wing moveable trailing edges (metallic and/or composite) components and document analysis results.

The successful candidate will have good knowledge of classical and Boeing analysis methodologies.

As a structural analysis engineer you will be part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) and must have the ability to effectively communicate and work under general supervision provided by senior lead engineers and management.

Our engineers work closely with many other technical disciplines and organizations to integrate solutions to complex engineering problems.

Position Responsibilities Performs basic structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.Strength analysis of structure using classical hand methods (including buckling, crippling, shear, tension).Perform Fatigue and damage tolerance analysis using Boeing methodologies.Determine internal and external loads on a structure using free body diagrams.Build Finite Element Models to determine internal loads and locate stress concentrations.Create Stress Analysis reports.Collaborate with engineers in other disciplines (structural design, loads/dynamics, mass properties, materials & properties, aerodynamics, manufacturing, etc.).Support internal design reviews.Supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.Works under general supervision.

This position allows telecommuting.

The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite in Berkeley, MO.

It is expected that the position will eventually return to full-time on-site at some point in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S.

Security Clearance for which the U.S.

Government requires U.S.

Citizenship.

An interim and/or final U.S.

Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience)Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry2 years of experience performing structural analysis.

(stress, fatigue, damage tolerance).3 years of experience using basic math (e.G.

addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) Preferred QualificationsBachelor and or Master of Science in Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace engineering preferred.General understanding of basic hand calculations, load paths with the ability to generate free body diagrams and material properties.1 years of experience using NASTRAN/PATRAN or similar FEM software to perform structural analysis.1 years of experience with structural repairs in a manufacturing environment.Proficient utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite.Experience with Boeing tools such as CSW & XSA.

Typical Education & Experience Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.

Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.

Master).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
