We are looking for a Battery Engineer who can join our team in developing mechanical hardware and engineering practices that will help us achieve our goal of revolutionizing the way people use their boats.
Pure Watercraft is a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work with a highly motivated team on extremely challenging projects.
Our engineering prototypes have already delivered more than 1,000 hours of high performance boating.
Check out this video of our prototype motor in action: Key Responsibilities: * Design, develop and executie battery related projects * Help define pack level requirements for battery controls, internal mechanical, electrical components (high voltage contactors/wiring), battery cells, and thermal performance* Develop battery prototypes for test and performance evaluation against cell specifications * Support long term reliability analysis with battery management system algorithms – charging/recharging strategies, cycles, temperature ranges, etc * Help develop battery level FMEA with comprehensive understanding of the failure modes severity, occurrence, and marine/boat impacts * Interface with test team to validate battery requirements and functional performance Requirements: * BS/MS in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent* 3+ battery system design and/or related mechanical hardware designs that have been carried from initial concept to production * Experience using SolidWorks (preferred) or equivalent CAD system * Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills in English Preferred Skills and Experience: * Fast-growing startup experience * Electric vehicle and/or electromechanical products experience * Experience designing products for high volume manufacturing * Experience with safety critical systems * Experience designing robust systems for harsh environments Pure Watercraft is a startup company based on Lake Union in Seattle dedicated to revolutionizing boating by building an innovative electric propulsion system that is clean and quiet without compromising power or range.
