Establish Design

This is a Full-time position in Salt Lake City, UT posted November 22, 2021.

We are seeking an architect with strong architectural design skills, a comprehensive understanding of the design process, proficiency in construction documentation, and substantial project management experience.

Duties/Responsibilities

Manage and assist with work on all phases of various architectural projects including design development, preparation of presentation drawings and specifications, design review, coordination and correlation of construction drawings, and review production drawings and specifications.

Provide both exterior AND interior architectural design direction.

 

Be responsible for project management to ensure projects are completed on time, properly approved by the appropriate jurisdiction, built within budget, executed to the high standards, and exceed client expectations.

Maintain communication with the project team, the Principal Design Partners, other office departments, and outside consultants and vendors.

Coordinate with contractors throughout the design and construction process to ensure the successful execution of the work.

Coordinate and track project schedules.

Manage and oversee work of the project team and provide direction, organization, and quality control reviews.

Ensure efficient project delivery and quality from programming through project closeout.

Act as primary client contact for specific projects, ensure client development and satisfaction, and assist to secure ongoing work.

Support supervision of production staff, and assist in establishing training activities.

Required Skills and Abilities

General knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in an architectural office is required.

Excellent verbal and written skills.

Strong organizational and time management capability.

An ability to collaborate and effectively work with a team.

Strategic thinking to address issues and new concepts in design, production of documents, and development of details.

Flexibility and an ability to adapt to different clients, project types, project styles, and processes.

Demonstrated ability to work on and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Must be proficient in software applications including AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.

 

5+ years of work experience in an architecture office is required, single-family residential design experience is preferred.

Traditional or classical architectural training or a strong interest to gain such training.

Education and Accreditation

Completion of a professional architecture degree from a NAAB-accredited institution.

Architectural licensure is strongly preferred.
