UX Designer

Title: UX Engineer II
Location: SF- Bay Area (Remote)
Duration: 06 Months Duration

Role Description
A Front-End Engineer on the User Experience Architecture team is responsible for assisting with the design and development of a forward looking UI framework and consistent design language that transforms Marketing Cloud applications into a beautiful, mature, performant, accessible and consistent platform for its users. In collaboration with Research, Design, Product, and Engineering, we work across teams to pair standardization with innovation and experimentation to craft great product experiences through rapid prototyping, validation, and iteration.

Your Impact
—–A day/week in your life as a UX Engineer will include:
—-Rapid, iterative prototyping to test concepts, technical feasibility, or validate and test with customers
—–Educating and enabling product and engineering teams with the adoption of Fuel UX our design patterns, visual style guide, and UI framework
—–Assisting engineering teams with front-end performance optimizations to improve both perceived and actual performance
—–Working on fast-paced projects, requiring attention to detail and working within constrained timelines
—–Full cycle of JavaScript front end development. Includes deep understanding of the DOM, JSON, object-oriented JavaScript, and common JavaScript libraries.
—–Implementing AJAX-driven interface. This includes extensive knowledge of web technologies such as HTTP, AJAX, and REST.
—–Evaluating and promoting standardization of front-end libraries and technology stack across all applications
—–Maintaining a complex JavaScript front end project. This includes the ability to structure JavaScript code, delay loading, and optimize execution.
—–Handling the management and administration of our public GitHub repositories for our libraries including pushing/pulling changes
—–Interacting with the GitHub community for open-source projects, promptly answering questions and fixing bugs

Minimum Requirements
—–2-4 years related experience
—–Experience utilizing the following JavaScript frameworks/libraries:
—–Node / Express
—–Gulp / Grunt / Webpack
—–React / Backbone
—–Understanding of W3C standards and experience in addressing cross-browser and platform compatibility issues.
—–Expert-level proficiency in developing against deployed REST APIs. Experience with integrating major 3rd party APIs (Facebook Open Graph, Twitter, Google Maps, YouTube, Open Social, etc) is a plus.
—–Expert-level proficiency in XHTML and CSS. Must be able to hand-code standards compliant XHTML and CSS. Practical knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 is a must.
—–Familiarity with classical programming concepts such as polymorphism, inheritance, and encapsulation. Previous experience with multiple languages also a plus. (C#, Node, Java, Ruby, PHP)
—–Excellent debugging and problem solving skills
—–Experience developing and deploying applications for different PaaS providers: Heroku, Azure, Amazon, etc.
—–Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (or similar graphics programs)
