Position Overview:
In a UX Designer role, you’ll take on complex tasks and transform them into intuitive, accessible, and easy-to-use designs—from the first-time user to the sophisticated expert.
Achieving this goal requires collaboration with teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers and Product Managers throughout the design process—from creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes.
At each stage, you will anticipate what our users need, advocate for them and ensure that the final product surprises and delights them.
We follow a simple but vital premise in the UX group: “Focus on the customer and all else will follow.” We’re interested in our customers and strive to learn everything we can about their behaviors, attitudes, and emotions to help define the products and experiences we create.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with product managers, engineers/developers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements, and provide creative, thoughtful solutions.
Communicate the user experience at various stages of the design process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, and/or high-fidelity prototypes.
Integrate user feedback and business requirements into ongoing product experience updates.
Advocate for the prioritization of design centered changes, accessibility, refinements, and improvements.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
3 years of relevant industry experience.
Possess knowledge of human interface guidelines of major operating systems (iOS, Android, OS X, Windows, etc.)
Proficiency with applications for communicating and prototyping information architecture, flow, and interaction of services and interfaces (eg.
Figma, Sketch, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop etc.) and experience with maintaining design system.
Skilled in communicating and influencing product design strategy, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers/Developers, Content Strategists and Product Managers throughout the design process to create user flows and wireframes to build user interface mockups and prototypes.
Create sketches, mockups, and other prototypes that make design ideas concrete and advances the group’s understanding of a workable solution.
Proven experience with usability principles, interaction design methods, user research methods, UI patterns, and design terminology.
Experience designing across multiple platforms.
Demonstrated proficiency designing user interfaces and complex information systems that help people accomplish specific tasks.
Identify important questions and proactively seek out information that provides answers.
Consider the importance of individual elements and organizing them in a manner that creates relevant meaning.
Excellent problem-solving skills and familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms such as desktop and mobile (i.e.
Android and iOS).
