TriMech is hiring for mechanical designers to assist with the design and documentation prototype systems or subsystems to support military applications or programs. This will involve the design of subsystems, kitting and spare parts to support overall integrated vehicle systems.
Experience and Skills Required:
- 5-8 years of related 3D CAD design experience with SolidWorks
- Design & drafting of spare parts, and subsystem components to support the overall vehicle system design.
- Will have experience design sheet metal & machined parts, as well as the design and integration of COTS components into the overall design
- Previous prototype integration experience is a big plus
- Ability to support the design and development of prototyped products
- Experience in the design of hydraulic systems, heavy truck subsystems (Axels, Trunnions, suspension, trailers, or ECU’s) are highly preferred
Technical Requirements:
- 5 Plus years of 3D CAD experience utilizing SolidWorks
- Knowledge of Model Based Definition (MBD) preferred
- Experience developing manufactured products with emphasis on Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Knowledgeable and experienced with material and process selection, including DFM and DFA
- Working knowledge of Military Standards and ASME Standards
- Experience with the development of Technical Data Packages 3D Design through Documentation
This role will support the design of kitting and spare parts that are utilized in military vehicle systems to include hydraulic components, heavy truck systems like ECU’s, Steering, or suspension related tasks. Will support all areas of the system with a focus on spare parts and kitting for the delivered vehicle system. Must be highly proficient in SolidWorks 3D CAD. Additional experience in NX is highly desirable, but not required.
