We strive to expand global access to care and reduce variability through robotic and analytics solutions.**A Day in the Life**Drive GUI / Digital Interactions for a next-generation robotic surgical system.
Work embedded in our Systems Engineering team to understand and influence digital workflow and system behavior at all levels.
Update and maintain visual design language and refine digital interactions across a highly complex, interactive system.
Collaborate closely with a dedicated User Experience researcher and Human Factors team to help define user needs, prototype, test and refine usability across all digital interactions.
Create prototypes and production graphics for everything from inspiration to testing to marketing collateral.**You will**+ Refine and maintain digital design language, maintaining roots in original marketing VOC and hardware design language+ Ideate and develop digital interface across system screens+ Document and develop system behavior specifications including indicators, sounds and state-based allow/restrict behaviors+ Consult on and/or own GUI design of system-adjacent apps+ Observe Usability testing and OR procedures+ Actively participate in Systems Engineering processes of risk assessment and requirements development and refinement+ Develop and maintain structured design documentation including GUI specs**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**+ Bachelors degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience**Nice to have:**+ BS/BA in Digital/GUI/UX/Interaction Design+ Strong visual prototyping and graphic communication (Sketch, InVision, Illustrator, Powerpoint) for design ideation and persuasive/explanatory use (e.g., helping systems engineers illustrate a workflow or interaction concept)+ Cogent, concise written communication+ Experience independently managing and prioritizing design approach to multiple projects (e.g.
consultancy) or complex systems (e.g.
medical systems).**Strongly Preferred:**+ 2+ years experience with regulated product development process (e.g.
IEC62366; requirements; development stages)+ Experience with timelines and budgeting+ Workflow agility and clear communication to meet fluid project priorities and requirements and tight timelines**Working Conditions:**Standard Office setting in the Seaport District of Boston, MA.Work within a commutable distance to our Boston/Seaport office with the option to work remotely a portion of the week, as business needs allow.This position requires a person to be able to lift small loads and maneuver in laboratory spaces for accessing the robotically assisted surgical equipment when testing.Work travel is anticipated to be low for this position; some travel may be required for design, collaboration, meetings, or debugging offsite.**About Medtronic**Together, we can change healthcare worldwide.
