Our EDO (Engineering Design Organization) is looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to take on the role of Piping Designer for the MidCon Region based out of our Baton Rouge, LA office.

Collaborating with the Regional Mechanical Team Leader and as a member of the EDO group working closely with the Mid Con EDO, the successful candidate will contribute to and be responsible for piping design and drafting in various markets and businesses. With a strong background in piping design, you will be passionate about helping build our EDO delivery capacity. The Piping Designer will support projects in all of our Markets, including Federal, Water (Water/Wastewater Treatment, Linear Water, Water resources), Energy and Resources (Energy, Petrochem, Chemicals, Pipeline), Environmental (Solid Waste, Landfill, Contaminated Sites and Remediation), and Federal Markets.

Responsibilities of the position will be:

• Provide design of piping systems for projects/proposals and assure that design meets customer specifications and industry codes and standards
• Verify accuracy and completeness of all deliverable products and services in assigned areas of responsibility
• Design to national codes and standards such as ASME B31.3
• Applies quality control processes and checklists
• Ensure accurate completion of project work
• Produce designs, drawings, and details from conception to final design and according to established standards and procedures.
• Conduct vital fieldwork inclusive of walk downs of current systems, locate piping tie-ins, and measure existing piping.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

• Ability to participate in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment
• Work collaboratively with others in a team environment to accomplish objectives
• Proficiency with AutoCAD v. 2016 or higher
• Working knowledge of laser scan point cloud data
• Knowledge of B31.1, B31.3 and B31.4, ANSI and ISO standards
• Ability to create 3D Models and orthographic drawings that incorporate Industrial Standards
• Ability to extract and compile complete BOM, Line List, Valve List and tie-point list.
• Experience with BIM360 is a plus
• Experience working with 3D piping design software preferred (i.e. Revit, CadWorx, or Plant3D)
• Knowledge of P&IDs
• Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC design is a plus
• Understanding of the level of effort required to complete piping designs and work
• Ability to take ownership and accountability for completed work

Qualifications:

• An associate degree in Drafting/Design or similar field or 7+years of relevant industrial and/or municipal drafting/design experience.
• 7 to 10+ years of recent experience with Cadworx.
• Experience in Plant 3D a plus.
