Supply Chain analytics professionals constantly push for ways to make our supply chain faster, more efficient and more responsive to Nike’s always-changing consumer needs.WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORWe are looking for a Director, Data Visualization and User Experience to join the Data Products & Reporting team within the larger Commercial Analytics organization. This role will direct a team of data visualization and reporting developers who sit on multi-functional agile squads responsible for maximizing predictive analytics, driving scalable data architecture, and delivering data products to enhance decision making across Nike’s Global functions. The candidate needs to be an innovator, capable of providing thought leadership and recommendations on applying the right tools to use cases requiring information consumption by a Global, broad user community. You will drive the ongoing effort to define visualization standards, user experience and tool assessment methodology along with training approach across squads. You will lead, recruit, and develop multidisciplinary development teams, with direct management over multiple managers and development resources. You are comfortable leading in an ambiguous environment and developing repeatable frameworks to improve team efficiency.WHAT YOU WILL WORK ONGuide and oversee development and execution of data visualization and self-service data products that lead to improved performance and accomplishment of strategic and/or operational goalsPartner closely with senior leadership and key partners to understand their business challenges and develop visualization solutions to address themOwn relationships with diverse business partners to understand current and future customer and business needs, elicit platform requirements, and define relevant strategic questionsMeasure and improve adoption and user engagement of the visualization portfolioDevelop and lead data visualization professionals responsible for building and deepening a holistic view of supply chain and consumersImplement methodologies and standards for all cycles of visual product development including requirements, prototyping, code development, code/asset management and versioning, documentation, and maintenance.Assess the business impact of different solutions and the trade-offs between customer needs, technology requirements, and costsActively evaluate and continuously improve the approach, toolset, and implementation of visual analytics and reportingPartner across data science and other functional teams to accelerate and use visualization strategies, data capabilities, and insights as part of the company’s integrated data offenseEvolve analytics capabilities and champion visualization and dashboarding standard methodologies for UI/UX development, data quality, deployment, and sustainable maintenance, including fast, iterative experimentation and measurementWHO YOU WILL WORK WITHYou will work as part of the Data Products and Reporting leadership team consisting of Product Directors and Data Analytics Directors while partnering closely with Data Engineering and Enterprise Platform leadership. You will collaborate across our broader organization with business teams as well as other data, analytics and technology functions at Nike.WHAT YOU BRINGBachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Technology, Computer Science or other related fields preferred. Will accept suitable combination of education and experience.7+ years of relevant experience developing dashboards, data visualizations, analytical reports, and self-service tools4+ years leading teams developing analytic tools, visual analytics, advanced analytics, or related practices Expert level proficiency in SQLHigh discernment, with a passion for business reporting, analysis, and working with business intelligence tools and large amounts of dataSolid history of analytical leadershipIn-depth experience in solving complex problems through data and analytics, including providing insights that are logical, data driven, simple to understand and aligned to business goalsExperience working hand-in-hand with key partners (teams, portfolio managers, product or merchandising managers, leaders, etc.) to design and build data visualizations to support business performance and goalsAbility to develop strong partnerships across a multi-layered, fast moving, results-driven organizationA leader in user-centered design who can capture and communicate user needs, coach developers to promote these methods, and measure user experience for products developed while advancing the practice of continual process improvementExpert in navigating complex business relationships while ensuring products are designed for optimal user experience and have measurable criteria for successExpertise with visual analysis technologies such as Tableau, Domo, Power BI, SAS, QlikView, JavaScript, or similar toolsExpertise in developing visualizations for web and mobile devicesExpertise in developing in cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS; MPP, Big Data and NoSQLtechnologies like Hadoop, Spark, Impala, Hive, MongoDB, HBase, or CassandraExcellent written, verbal and presentation skills – a visual and verbal storyteller who can guide and develop these skills across the teamPreferred skillsExpertise in data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and the ability to drive standard methodologies in data management and governanceSolid understanding of various database management systems like Oracle, MySQL, Teradata, Netezza, SQL Server, or DB2, as well as proficiency in working with large data sets.NIKE, Inc. is a growth company that looks for team members to grow with it.
