Harder Mechanical Contractors has an opening for a mechanical designer to support our clients and construction teams with design-assist and design-build projects.
The successful candidate will be familiar with mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC system design with a strong grasp of building codes and mechanical industry standards.Candidates interested in pursuing their Professional Engineer license will be working under licensed engineers in this role.Responsibilities+ Resolve engineering issues and constraints through communication with others+ Mentor new engineers in their roles, taking responsibility for their training and development+ Responsible for the preparation of deliverable documents including narratives, calculations, drawings and specifications+ Independently evaluate and apply engineering judgment, techniques, and procedures to complete a project from concepts through construction+ Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical system design, HVAC, Plumbing, and Energy Modeling+ Thorough understanding of interdisciplinary coordination+ Advanced understanding of the application of building codes and mechanical industry standards+ Perform engineering calculations and equipment selection+ Perform site visits and issues reports+ Serve as a technical resource for the companyJob Requirements+ 4-8 years of mechanical and/or plumbing system design experience+ Advanced understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, able to effectively communicate design options+ Proficient with AUTOCAD, Revit, & Navisworks software groups+ Proficient with Trane Trace Load software+ Attention to detail and advanced organizational skills+ Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with others+ Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks on an ongoing basis+ Relentless commitment to teamwork and client satisfaction+ Basic computer competency, including Microsoft Office and Bluebeam+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experienceNice To Haves+ Familiarity with Autocad Plant3D & Fabrication CADMEP+ Familiarity with Triflex Pipe Stress Analysis software or equal+ Interest in LEAN construction principles+ Passion for ongoing learning and keeping up with industry trends+ Ability to travel to other regions to gain exposure to additional markets and industriesBenefits+ Competitive compensation+ Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits+ Generous retirement package+ Company paid holidays+ Paid Time OffThis position is salaried.Please submit a cover letter along with your resume.About HarderHarder Mechanical is a large, nationally recognized contractor with an outstanding reputation for working safely, meeting tough schedules, delivering a quality project and coming in on budget.
