Great Mechanical Designer Opportunity in Malvern!

DLM, a Division of Systems, LLC, in Malvern (a growing Metals Fabrication Manufacturer) is a leader in the design and manufacture of loading dock equipment.

We have a great opportunity for a Mechanical Designer at our Malvern, Arkansas facility.

The Mechanical Designer is primarily involved in the development or improvement of actual products or designs.

Work may include creation of previously non-existent products or modification of existing products, including product line extensions.

What You’ll Do:
Develops thorough understanding of company products and knowledge of order process.
Uses AutoCAD to model architectural layouts; uses Autodesk Inventor to design product models.
Use our MRP system (TCM) to create bill of materials and routings.
Problem-solves manufacturing issues and redesigns models as necessary.
Selects and tests materials and components that will be suitable for the product.
Responds to customer requests for particular products or designs.
Conceptualizes, develops prototypes, tests, and perfects designs.
Applies engineering principles and concepts to the design process on products.
Completes tasks that are routine and detailed as well as ones that are broad and require creativity.
Works independently; manages and tracks special projects.
In addition to engineering software, uses basic computer software such as spreadsheets, databases, word processing applications, email, Internet, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor or Associates degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent professional experience.
At least 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing setting.
Working knowledge of TCM or other MRP software.
Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
