Job Title: Manager of Digital Storytelling and Creative Marketing

Reports to: Vice President of Audience Engagement

Purpose of the Position: 

The Manager of Digital Storytelling and Creative Marketing is responsible for creative asset capture (photography, video) and content production (writing, design, editing) for online platforms, promoting a positive image of the orchestra as welcoming, inclusive, audience centered, and fun.

Supervisory Responsibility:  None

Essential Functions


Visual Asset Capture

Attends TPS concerts and events regularly capturing still and video images of the events from a variety of visual and content perspectives

Consults regularly with Operations and Production and Education and Community Engagement staff regarding opportunities and needs for visual asset capture and related permissions and restrictions

  • Manages, researches, and secures equipment for visual image capture
  • Manages TPS’ visual asset library, including providing access to assets for TPS staff or assisting in identifying assets as needed
  • Edits, color corrects, or otherwise prepares and maintains visual images

Visual Design

  • Creates static designs in support of advertising campaigns and TPS content production as needed.

    Contexts to include social media platforms, e-mail design, website and others as needed

Social Media Platform Management

  • Plans, schedules, writes, edits, and designs social media posts for TPS accounts on the following platforms: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Twitter
  • Gathers, assesses and presents data analytics from social media platforms, regularly measures the engagement and effectiveness of social media content , and adjusts tactics accordingly
  • Works with VP of Audience Engagement to develop social media strategies and goals
  • Works with digital advertising agency in support of department head as needed to maintain schedule of content and work flow

Writing/Editing

  • Write and edit promotional and communications copy as needed for a variety of contexts, including social media platforms, website and advertising
  • In conjunction with TPS management, develop writing style and voice for TPS public facing content

Departmental Support

  • Serves as support staff for the Marketing Department, facilitating smooth work flow and communications alongside of and as backup for departmental management

Qualifications:

Knowledge

Thorough knowledge of digital visual design processes and practices and writing and editing skills, experience with video and still image capture and production

Skills

  • Positive interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of common social media platforms
  • Basic knowledge of digital image programs such as Photoshop
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent time management and follow through skills

  • Video shooting and editing
  • Understanding of E-mail marketing
  • Curiosity regarding music and the arts and developments
    in social media and digital technology

  • Handle confidential materials and situations
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends

Overall Level of Knowledge Required:  Thorough

Computer Skills: Excellent skills in using the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, video editing software.

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in design and photography/videography preferred

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge of orchestral repertoire is an asset

An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experiencewill be considered.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  Valid Arizona Driver’s License with an excellent record and reliable transportation

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

Ability to: 

  • Be indoors and outdoors
  • Concentrate on a computer screen
  • Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.

Compensation:

Depends on experience.
