Lead UX Designer

The Lead UX Designer will have overall responsibility for visual design of Mueller’s flagship SaaS platform, Sentryx.

This includes mobile and web information architecture and UI design.

The Lead UX Designer will have an opportunity to re-imagine workflows of our existing SaaS application based on a deep understanding of user needs and personas.

A successful candidate will be highly collaborative, partnering with business owners and direct customer interactions to gain understanding of user needs.

Ultimately translating those needs to a cohesive product design across a suite of applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage User Experience design for Mueller’s Sentryx SaaS platform
• Partner with business leaders understand user needs of a variety of personas
• Perform User Journey mapping
• Lead team of UI/UX engineers to create high fidelity mock-ups that effectively illustrate visual design
• Conduct user research and usability testing
• Ensure consistent Information Architecture (IA) for suite of SaaS applications
• Research and gather usability metrics to continually improve user engagement
• Participate in cross-functional areas such as hardware & firmware design to ensure consistent user experience for connected IoT devices
• Collaborate with customer experience team to streamline operations
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by Sr.

  Director of Engineering

Qualifications:

• 5+ UX Design Experience
• BS CE, or CS or similar degree
• Experience conducting user research through collaboration with business owners as well as direct customer interactions
• Demonstrated experience practicing data driven UX design through customer interviews, surveys, and analysis of usability metrics (we use Mixpanel)
• Demonstrated experience with both web and mobile platform design
• Experience working in a highly collaborative agile development environment
• Experience leading a full UX design process including creating user personas, journey maps, wireframes, visual designs, prototypes, and hand off to developers
• Hands-on proficiency in UI mock-up tools (Figma preferred)
• Comfortable leading small team of UI/UX engineers to scale up UX design for suite of SaaS applications

Preferred:

• Experience with Angular web applications
• Experience with advanced data analytics visualizations
