Location: Austin, TXDescription:
This 12-month contract role will work in partnership with the Americas Sales and Operations Support (SOS) Logistics and Learning and Development teams to identify and document critical functional knowledge, including specific technical and general Operations skills needed for a successful onboarding experience in Logistics.

This role reports to the Americas SOS L&D Manager.

As an Instructional Designer/Technical writer, you are a strong, hands-on designer with demonstrated experience creating learning journeys centered on technical tools and processes.

You have in-depth knowledge of adult learning methodology and skills across a variety of learning applications and modalities, such as eLearning, on-demand, video-instructor led-training (VILT), instructor-led-training (ILT), blended learning, job aides, etc.

You’re well-versed in SME and stakeholder management, possess a blend of business and technical savvy, a love of process documentation, and solid project management experience.

Ideally, you also have direct experience in supply chain.

• Identify and document critical knowledge within the first 120 days of a New Hire’s onboarding across multi-role teams in the Logistics function
• Identify, organize and validate relevant functional content related to Onboarding, including key systems, tools and processes
• Assist in creating process documentation to close learning gaps where needed
• Assist in building plans in clients’s web-based onboarding tool
• Create journey templates for functional SME use
• Create self-paced learning and other critical learning assets to meet learning needs
• Support validating relevant content from other geographies as appropriate
• Assist in crafting initial onboarding milestones/”check ins” to gauge onboarding efficacy
• Gather supporting documents and organize content for uploading to a central repository
• Act as a main liaison between functional SMEs and L&D throughout the project lifecycleMinimum Qualifications
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience in a corporate L&D organization as an instructional designer or technical writer, including Program/Project management experience
• Strong instructional design skills, including audience and needs analysis; development of scope, design specifications, and performance-based objectives; technical documentation and program design; creation of broad learning modalities/platform exposure; and experience measuring, understanding, and communicating learning impact
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication and writing skills and strong influencing ability
• Demonstrated success working independently and in cross-functional teams
• Outstanding flexibility, initiative, and enthusiasm for creating clarity within ambiguityEducation
• Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s degree preferred in Instructional Design or Technical Writing
• Supply chain and/or Operations experience a plusDuties: Designs and develops instructional material for customer training courses that support company technical products.

Demonstrates and utilizes effective needs analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills.

Can independently develop entry and advanced level courses for both internal and external audiences.

Able to utilize multimedia technology and authoring tools.

Skill requirements include technical writing, teaching/training, performance measuring, multimedia, curriculum and course development, ability to work independently or on a team.
