Graphic Designer (Packaging)

Responsibilities

Design packaging for our current product lines and brands based on specifications given for stores.

Work closely with the Art Director to align with, and contribute to, the visual design system and brand guidelines, as well
as to set and meet realistic deadlines for all projects
Conceptualize, design, edit, and prepare packaging files prior to sending them to overseas factories
Request, review, and provide feedback and final approval for tools and design proofs before mass production
Research trends, brainstorm, and create renders for seasonal packaging and buyer presentations
Occasionally perform minor photo editing
Create packaging assets: SKU numbers, barcodes, master carton boxes, tool specification rating labels, and design
manuals for tools

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art, Graphic Art, or related field with major course work or training in computer-assisted
graphics and 3-5 years of professional design experience
Packaging design and/or beauty industry experience preferred
Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop with a basic knowledge of Adobe InDesign
Strong conceptual thinking, typography skills, and layout skills with a portfolio that highlights these assets
Complete knowledge of pre-press and printing process required; including but not limited to, stock, inks, calibration,
color balancing, color profiling, proofing, scanning, and preparing files for final production using industry standard
Excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written)
Amazing work ethic and personal accountability
Meticulous attention to detail is crucial
Strong ability to meet deadlines while working under pressure
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from directors, managers, and vendors
Must be flexible shifting between different projects due to the wide range of tasks in this role
Must have the ability to prioritize tasks and have remarkable time management skills
Must be a team player, but also an independent worker and self-starter
Must be willing to learn and able to take direction from others
