Creative Flagstaff is soliciting dynamic candidates to fill the organization’s first-ever Development Director position.
This position is critical to support the organization through a period of growth based on in its new strategic plan, Discover Creativity, Discover Opportunity, announced on June 18, 2021, at the 13th Annual Viola Awards.
Flagstaff Arts Council is now Creative Flagstaff.
The new name, announced alongside the strategic plan.
The director is responsible for leading cultivation for both friends and donors – supporting an ambitious roster of programs.
Our Development Director loves arts and culture and inspires meaningful connections.
They are well versed in grant-writing, fundraising events, corporate giving, and cultivating long-term donors.
They also love putting systems into place.
We’ve recently implemented Virtuous CRM and can’t wait to grow into its multi-channel communication capabilities and donor lifecycle management for our 10,000+ contacts and nearly 1,000 annual donors.
On day one, the director will deep dive into the 2023 Dark Sky Arts & Ideas Festival.
This ambitious new festival, the product of more than two years of grassroots collaboration, will blossom into a centerpiece of Flagstaff’s cultural sector.
$200,000 has already been raised for the first-year event.

Longtime arts philanthropist, Judd Herberger of the Herberger Theater Center family, passed away last Wednesday.
Among the many art institutions, Herberger and his wife supported, were Phoenix Theatre, Ballet Arizona, Scottsdale Philharmonic, Phoenix Art Museum, Scottsdale Center for the Arts, and more.

Judd Herberger passed away from heart failure on Wednesday, according to a statement released by the family.
He was 79.
