Position Description:

Cosmic AES is looking for a System Design Engineer 4 to support one of our customers. The System Design Engineer will have technical oversight of a Cosmic AES product system. This includes system engineering, system integration responsibilities, managing product development utilizing Cosmic AES Agile / DevSecOps processes as well as providing system-level guidance to aerospace industry partners. The System Design Engineer will also brief technical aspects of projects to Program Managers.

Job Duties:

• Be responsible for designing and implementing changes to the client’s systems in accordance with project Statement of Objectives (SOO) and Statement of Work (SOW)
• Coordinate with government Program Managers and Engineers for technical requirements, system performance, and USAF end-user system performance expectations
• Create system and network designs that determine appropriate scale and scope of technical solutions and describe the impact of those changes
• Coordinate closely with development, sustainment, cybersecurity, and test engineering teams to meet design requirements
• Provide strong knowledge and understanding of system-level requirements, system architecture, and system interfaces
• Work closely with Cosmic AES program management on cost/ schedule constraints, and technical staff resourcing (labor/ material)
• Work closely with AFLCMC System Program Office to support major program and technical reviews, e.g., program management reviews, systems engineering reviews, this includes formal presentation of technical aspects of the development system.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience with multiple engineering disciplines and applied sciences (AE, EE, ME, CS, physics, mathematics) in relation to development, integration and test of complex cyber and RF systems
• Experience with SATCOM communication systems and software defined radios
• Familiarity with cyber platforms such as Hydra, Cyber Mission Platform (CMP) and various “launch infrastructure” to include remote communication segments (satellite constellation), data collection and analysis
• BS in engineering or applied sciences field with 10+ years’ experience in DOD engineering.
• Candidate must have an Active TS/SCI clearance to start.

Desired Qualifications:

• Cyber platforms and platform development/integration, test, & evaluation experience
• Strong presentation skills of complex technical data
• Can work in a team environment with mid-level and junior engineers
• Preferred: MS in engineering or applied sciences field
• Preferred understanding of USAF cyber systems and mission
