The Boeing Global Services (BGS), and Engineering Support and Services (ES&S), Space and Missile Systems Integration (SMSI) team is currently looking for a System Availability Engineer 4 to join their team in Huntsville, AL.  We support engineering activities for multiple programs in Huntsville, Alabama as well as providing Product Lifecycle services across the United States.

Applicant will be supporting the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Operations & Sustainment (O&S) Reliability, Availability, and Obsolescence (Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS)) teams.

Position Responsibilities:

The Huntsville based Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Operations & Sustainment (O&S) Sustaining Engineering team is seeking an individual to support numerous Reliability, Availability, and Obsolescence Task.

• Process Failure Records and create trending analysis in the Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS).

• Review Subcontractors Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) deliveries to ensure quality.

• Conduct Obsolescence/DMSMS research and spares management.

• Work as a member of a cross functional team.

• Assist with Obsolescence Management and Reliability Program Plans.

• Track maintenance actions for Asset Availability and System Availability.

• Operate with little over site with timely and first time quality outcomes.

• Communicate clearly and be able to present in a clear in concise manor.

• Verify Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability requirements.

• Preparation of routine program obsolescence, availability, and reliability reports for delivery to the customer

• Track and report on changes to the program obsolescence priority list

• The candidate must be able to occasionally travel domestically, work flexible hours, overtime and occasional weekends when necessary.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance or higher. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) .

Export Control Requirement:

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a ?US Person? as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. ?US Person? includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):          

• Experience with calculating Mean Time Between Failures (MTBFs)

• Experience with Failure Reporting and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS).

• DOD Weapon System Experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• DOD Weapon System Experience

• Experience with Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECAS)

• Experience with Failure Reporting and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS), Nonconformance Reports (NCRs), Failure Records, and Trending Analysis.

• Experience with Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability RAM Predictions.

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
