Program Support Specialist

Lakes & Pines Community Action Council, Inc.

This is a Full-time position in Mora, MN posted November 28, 2021.

The Program Support Specialist is responsible for meeting the Agency’s mission as a team member in a comprehensive approach to community building by being the initial point of contact for people seeking assistance from the programs provided by Lakes & Pines CAC, Inc.

This position is also responsible for providing clerical support to all programs, and to support office procedures and operations to ensure efficient, timely and professional delivery of Lakes & Pines CAC, Inc.

Integral to this position is continued support for the mission of the Agency and advocacy for low-income persons in addition to thorough knowledge of all Lakes & Pines CAC, Inc.

programs and community resources.
Support the Mission of the Agency through daily work.
Provide a high level of customer service to customers coming to Lakes & Pines for assistance.
Providing telephone coverage for the office, receiving incoming calls, recording messages, referrals and to screen and route calls and messages to the proper program.
Maintaining an accurate record of all customer contacts, including walk-ins, phone calls, intakes, referrals and applications requested or submitted.
Knowing and maintaining a current working understanding of all Lakes & Pines programs and guidelines to ensure the greatest degree of accuracy is given to customers while offering a broad awareness of service available.
Making determinations as to which programs or services customers may be eligible for and initiate the application or referral process.
Providing information to all people requesting information or services on various Lakes & Pines programs.
Provide direct services to program participants.
Meeting with potential program participants at the office or by telephone.
Completing applications and securing additional information as requested, including obtaining releases from participants as needed.Assuring participants right to privacy is safeguarded and proper releases are obtained, as needed.
Participating in recruitment and marketing of programs, as requested.
Provide clerical and office support to all programs.
Assisting customers with the use of office computers, phones or other equipment as needed to aid in housing and job searches; in addition to aiding the public in use of the computers in accessing resources available to assist them.
Tracking site staff schedules.
Processing all outgoing and incoming mail and ensuring timely delivery.
Assuring adequate supplies are on hand for office operations.
Reporting repairs or maintenance issues to the proper person in a timely manner
Promptly preparing office for daily use and subsequently shutting office down each evening.
Deal discretely, tactfully and diplomatically with participants, co-workers, volunteers, funders, community organizations, partners and government officials while maintaining client confidentiality and conducting oneself in a professional manner.
Have knowledge and apply Agency policies and procedures, including safety, technology, data practices and other applicable policy, procedure and program regulations.
Serve as a mentor for new staff and a resource for co-workers, Agency program participants and community partners.
Conduct outreach to potential program participants, volunteers, community organizations and service providers, as requested.
Maintain regular communication in regards to operational and program needs, issues and activities with program management and/or the Department Director.
Perform other essential job functions as assigned by supervisor and/or Department Director.
High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary degree preferred or 3-5 years of experience working in a related field.

Position is full-time, Monday through Friday, hours vary from 6:00 am – 6:30 pm.

Starting salary range is $16.47
– $16.97 per hour, depending upon qualifications, full benefits package including 13 paid holidays, annual and sick leave, and up to 5% retirement contribution match.
