Plate Maker (Pre-Press) / Press Support 3rd Shift

Create and mount plates for Press according to standards and procedures as established.

Actively participate and maintain a 6-S, lean and safe work environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The job functions listed below represent the essential job duties and responsibilities of the above-listed position.

1.

Plate Mounting 45%

* Follow schedule to prioritize daily mounting schedule.
* Mount Flexo and Letterpress Plates.
* Mount Endcaps to Rotary Screens.
* Strip cylinders after being returned from press.
* File Flexo plates after job is finished on press.
* Follow-up with each press for status and troubleshoot any problems.
* Communicate with other departments to ensure an effective workflow.

2.

Plate Making 30%

* Follow schedule to prioritize daily plate making schedule.
* Use of the Esko CDI to produce Flexo and Letterpress plates.
* Use of the Agfa Avalon B8-24 to produce Litho plates.
* Use of the VariLEX to produce Rotary Screens
* Pull Flexo plates for repeat jobs.
* Create Folders for new Flexo plates as needed.

3.

Maintenance 10%

* Perform Daily, Weekly and Monthly maintenance on all machines.

4.

6S/ Lean.

10%

* Actively Participate and maintain a 6-S, lean and safe work environment.
* Help create and maintain a 6-S environment; Sort, Shine, Straighten, Standardize, Safety, Sustain.
* Help create and maintain a Lean environment.
* Actively participate in Lean Events.

5.

Crosstrain 5%

* Help in other departments as needed.
