The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the ongoing service our clients. We provide a concierge approach to our client service which requires a great attention to detail and also a friendly, helpful, and analytical approach. Altitude Payroll strives to create an excellent client experience. Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Enters new hire and payroll information into payroll system for processing
- Handles client inquiries regarding payroll and tax matters
- Assists Sales in gathering required information to successfully onboard new clients
- Trains clients on online payroll
- Logs client inquiries into CRM and schedules and assigns client tasks as necessary
- Makes Welcome Calls and emails to new clients welcoming them to service
- Verifies accuracy of loads and emails sales reps for missing items
- Makes phone calls to agency to verify rates and numbers if necessary
- Sets up and supports client and employee logins as needed
- Process and manage client requests related to quarter end and year end tax returns
- Processes payroll, tax, and garnishment setup and payments as necessary
- Researches and resolves tax questions from clients as needed
- Informs and educates clients on service
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Experience
- Experience and understanding of Payroll and/or Accounting Software
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy is a must
- Payroll Service or HR Experience in a service related environment
- Quarter/Year End Processing Experience
- Familiarity with forms 940, 941, W2, W3, 1099, state and unemployment returns
- Multi-state payroll experience
- Must be self-starter and self-motivated
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Represent Altitude Payroll to prospects and at public events in a professional manner in line with Altitude Payroll’s values.
- Ability to develop value-added relationships with Clients, CPAs, Bookkeepers, and other professionals
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of education and experience
