Manufacturing Support Engineer (Weekend Shift)

This is a Full-time position in Columbia City, IN posted October 24, 2021.

The weekend Manufacturing Support Engineer is responsible for the execution of the weekend production schedule as communicated from the Operations team.

The position will lead the weekend shift staff by providing direction and guidance throughout the work schedule.
The position will be tasked with maximizing efficiency and ensuring the highest levels of quality during their operation.

The individual must have knowledge of engineering concepts, practices, and procedures in a normal manufacturing environment.

In addition, the ability to lead people is a must.
Work Schedule: Friday
– Sunday (6:00 AM
– 6:00 PM)

Job Description:
* Provide daily direct supervision for the assembly operators and Group Leaders in order to maintain the highest level of efficiency for the manufacturing operations.
* Monitor and maintain weekly production metric reports on Safety/Quality/ Delivery/Cost
* Assist in the development and implementation of improvement plans for key drivers of Safety/Quality/ Delivery/Cost with the Operations Team, Production Engineers and Tooling groups.
* Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and breakdowns during their operation.
* Perform semi-annual employee evaluations with production operators to provide timely performance feedback and coaching on improvements.
* Participates in accident investigations and monitors opportunities for ergonomic improvements.
* Track absenteeism, timekeeping and training.
* Apply lean principles to process design.
* Apply six-sigma methods to define and track process capability.
* Train production personnel on manufacturing processes.
* Maintain compliance of company policies, safety standards, quality specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent working experience
* 2+ years of experience leading teams of 5 or more Production employees
* Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance.

Security clearances are granted to U.S.

citizens.

Desired Skills:
* Must be a team player with good communication skills
* Must have strong computer skills and be especially proficient in MS Office
* Experience with electronic components, printed circuit boards and circuit card assemblies
* Significant experience and familiarity with manufacturing best practices (lean concepts, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, constraint analysis, etc.) and their application
* Working knowledge and experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data-driven analytics
