The IT Support Tech, under general supervision, will be an individual who understands great customer service and enjoys helping people solve problems. The person in this role will support the help desk processes, common business and productivity systems and software, and IT infrastructure and networking fundamentals. They need to juggle a variety of ongoing projects and urgent issues when they arise. Many non-routine problems are escalated to a specialty team for resolution. Travel between sites and after hours support services will be required. This position will report to the IT Support Services Manager.Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, hours depending upon need.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:* Serves as the primary interface with staff for support of technology hardware and software* Identifies, escalates and resolves a variety of technical problems* Professionally responds to telephone calls, e-mails, and employee requests for technical support* Tracks and monitors open problems to ensure a high standard of customer service is met* Communicates system outages and updates to users* Installation and troubleshooting of Windows, Apple and Android devices and peripherals* Assists with administration of business software applications and related services* Creates and maintains documentation on common issues and processes* Assists in troubleshooting if interruption of services occurs* Creation and management of user accounts and access to file servers and applications* Remain current with trends and advances in technology* Make recommendations to enhance functionality and service to users* Work with IT to identify new software and hardware, including replacements and upgrades* Participates in a regular on-call rotation* Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of IT equipment* Configuration and installation of phones, computers and printers* Performs other duties as assignedREQUIRED SKILLS:* Skilled in organizing and expressing ideas effectively in oral and written communication* Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills* Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team environment* Must have a passion for technology and a willingness to learn* Maintain a positive attitude and a commitment to quality* Hands on experience with Windows, Apple and Android devices* Experience with all versions of Microsoft Office* Working knowledge of computer systems and networks* Must be capable of following strict policies and procedures* Physically perform the essential functions of the jobMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:(Persons applying for a position should have a combination of the following experience and training.)Two years of information technology related experience or combination of post-secondary technical training such as: installing workstations, providing technical support for software, or installing and maintaining hardware, network infrastructure equipment, security or telecommunications software or hardware or equivalent education/experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:* Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT Support* Experience in a manufacturing industry background strongly preferred* Certification in one or more; networking or systems administration is highly desired* Associate degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent work experienceAs a condition of employment, Idaho Forest Group requires employees to complete a variety of pre-employment screening processes which may include, but are not limited to: criminal background check, drug and substance test, reference check, prior work verification, driving history (MVR), education verification, aptitude/skills testing, and credit checks. The depth of screening will vary based on the position.TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:Help Desk system, Mobile Device Management, anti-virus, MS Office, device encryption, SNMP logging applications, event logs, audiovisual equipment, computer, telephone, copy/fax machine, etc.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work is performed both in an office and manufacturing environment while sitting or standing at a desk or computer.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Physical exertion may be required to lift or move equipment. Able to move safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movement. Sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull, maintain balance, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distances, and climb stairs.
