Summary of Duties: Intensive Family Intervention Support Services is a community based program providing a higher level of support to families whose children are at risk of being placed in an out-of-home placement by Children’s Youth and Family.
The goal is to keep children safe by working with their families within their homes and communities.
The services are provided to families (including adoptive, foster, and extended) who are in crisis, and intensive, wraparound support is needed in order to prevent child abuse/neglect and maintain the child(ren) safely within their family of origin.
On occasion these services are also provided to families who are not referred by CYFD and the goal would then be to ensure that the family avoids referral into the Child Welfare System as a whole.
