In-Home Direct Support Professional

Alleghany Highlands Community Services provides services and support to individuals in our community with behavioral health challenges and intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Residential Direct Support Professional (RDSP) provides services to children and adults with developmental disabilities with in-home residential services, in-home respite services, and out-of-home respite services.

The RDSP uses a variety of teaching techniques and strategies designed to facilitate independence and skills acquisition.

The position is responsible for providing supervision, life skills training and community integration.

REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or GED.

(required)Past experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (preferred)Valid Driver’s License (required)RESPONSIBILITIESTeach targeted skills in a variety of settings, support and skill build individuals in personal care skills (i.e.
