Operations Engineering has an opportunity for a Production Test Subject Matter Expert (SME). The SME will lead a combined Engineering and Operations team as a Common Factory Test Platform (CFTP) Improvement and Support Lead. Selected candidate will plan, control, and direct the support and modifications of production test platforms within Raytheon Technologies (RTX) Subsystems Strategic Make Center (SMC). The successful candidate will report to a PTE Section Manager within the Subsystems SMC and be responsible for overseeing the cost and schedule management of team products with a strong emphasis on anticipating, understanding, and solving problems through delivery of timely, cost effective test solutions. The candidate will be accountable for all aspects of metrics and status reporting (EAC, EVMS, BXR, etc) as well as all work being done by the responsible team.

The candidate must be capable of working beyond the typical eight (8) hour workday and 40-hour workweek, including alternating weekend and holiday coverage throughout the year. This position requires direct support of manufacturing activities and spending nearly 100% of daily time in the factory areas and able to work in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• Prioritize work to meet the customers’ needs
• Coordinate resources
• Manage program agnostic Integrated Product Team (IPT) comprised of Engineering and Operations employees
• Manage prioritization and execution of CFTP Core and Test Position Set (TPS) upgrades
• Provide technical guidance and problem solving to the strategic make center
• Interface with Project Test Specialists and Strategic Make Center personnel and leadership
• Collaborate/participate with Factory Managements leadership team
• Interface with program and engineering leadership from multiple programs
• Employee coaching, mentoring, and training
• Technical quality of engineering tasks, product compliance, ensure proper peer reviews, and processes and technical oversight are complete
• Provide inputs and formal presentations to management, customers and team members
• Budget ownership
• Support ROM, Proposal and EAC activities

An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional 3 years of experience.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) – Preferred degrees: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics.
• Eight (8) years of relevant experience
• Experience working in a manufacturing/factory test environment
• Experience with troubleshooting
• Experience leading root cause and corrective actions
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
