G&C Foods: Purchasing Support

Overview:The Purchasing Support role is responsible for owning essential tasks and processes that are integral to the success of the Purchasing Team.

The Purchasing Support team works directly with buyers and suppliers to ensure the accuracy of product specifications, Purchase Order details and delivery to the G& C Foods warehouse.

Whileowning these processes, the Purchasing Support team allows buyers the time and focus to increase the performance and profitability of their category.Responsibilities:Responsible for new item code creation and existing code maintenanceWork with buyers to confirm details & logistics of purchase orders for a select group of vendorsManage all aspects of Purchase Order maintenance, such as PO entry, communication to supplier, order and receiving appointment confirmationActively communicate with the Receiving team regarding inbound POs that require extra attentionWork with the Inventory Control team on inventory corrections and product date rotationAdminister product information, including specifications and pictures, on our company website, gcfoods.MarketDevelop working relationship with vendor communityActively work with Purchasing Support team members to cross-train on daily reporting, allocation, and price list management Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills and Assessments:Process management and improvement experienceAbility to handle high volume of work within expected time frames and at expected standardStrong prioritization skills and ability to refocus attention as needed throughout the dayActive and effective communication skills via phone, video, and emailStrong attention to detailProfessionalism and tactBusiness development and relationship building essentialThorough working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and OutlookAbility to work independently under general supervisionRequirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related preferred, High School Diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of 3-5 years of Retail or Food Service Purchasing Distribution experience
