Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Jubilee Association of Maryland is looking for Direct Support Professionals to join our team.

Full time position (weekends required)

Base Rate of Pay: $14.60/hour

Requirements:

• High school diploma and experience in a related field.
• Must be able to complete a Criminal Background report.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds at a time
• Have a drivers license and reliable transportation
• Intermediate computer skills are required, staff will use technology for daily documentation and to help the person receiving support to engage in their communities.

Company overview: Jubilee Association of Maryland was established as an outreach of Hyattsville Mennonite Church in 1978. Beginning with one group home serving seven adults, Jubilee has gradually grown to now serve over 135 adults with developmental disabilities. Jubilee supports over 100 adults who live more independently in the community and are funded by Community Supported Living Arrangements, Maryland Individual Support Services, and Montgomery County Individual Support Services-County or County Crisis funding.

Job Requirements:

• Providing direct support to individuals with intellectual disabilities
• Provide direct care support for adults with disabilities
• Provide direct care to persons with developmental and physical disabilities
• Enable individuals with disabilities to perform duties
• Play a directcare role, helping individuals with severe developmental disabilities to learnskills of daily living
• Play a direct care role, helping individuals with severe developmental disabilities to learn skills of daily living
• Support clients with developmental disabilities of different degrees
• Provide support to people with disabilities
• Perform personal care and daily living needs
• Supporting activities of daily living
• Assess the needs of persons with intellectual or other developmental disabilities
• Assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live a self-directed life
• Complete all daily, weekly, and monthly records, reports, logs, progress notes, location reports, and medical records in a timely fashion
• Teach and assist with everyday living skills, support individuals with community activities including paid employment and volunteer opportunities, facilitate community relationships
