A New York City banking company is currently seeking an experienced IT professional to join their staff as their new Desktop Support Associate. In this role, the Desktop Support Associate will be responsible for providing first second-level technology support for Traders, Sales, Research, Back Office and Administration staff. Responsibilities The Desktop Support Associate will Provide first level support for Veritas network backup solution Maintain scheduled backup jobs, review status of nightly jobs, and restore data as requested Physically load the tapes, monitor the job, unload tapes and arrange for off-site storage Maintain physical add, moves and changes for computer equipment Enter, update and close tickets for support calls into the centralized call tracking system Train end users on effectively utilizing desktop hardware and software applications Maintain inventory for hardware and software for the New York office Address user tickets regarding hardware, software and networking Walk customers through installing applications and computer peripherals Escalate unresolved issues to the next level of support Follow up with clients to ensure their systems are functional Report customer feedback and potential product requests Help create technical documentation and manuals Qualifications 2+ years of proven work experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, Technical Support Engineer or similar role Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science andor a related field Hands-on experience with WindowsLinuxMac OS environments Working knowledge of Office Automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners Knowledge of Network Security practices and Anti-virus programs Solid problem solving and time management skills Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized
