– $89,400 Position Information Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Student Business Services (SBS), the incumbent independently performs a variety of administrative, customer service, and training duties in the customer service area of the SBS.

Effectively addresses difficult and escalated customer inquiries.

Serve as the lead representative in the area of student and department billing interpreting the student information system.

Provides analytical support necessary in maintaining the integrity of accounts in the various SBS systems, Student Information System (Banner), and Chargeback System (CRC), ensuring proper payment distribution by researching and adjusting system specifications.

Responsibilities include update and maintenance of SBS policies and procedures, department training materials, and overseeing department student workers.

The incumbent will supervise the department phone queue to ensure timely answering of incoming calls and generate monthly reports.

Representing the SBS Department, attend meetings and campus workgroups.

Responsible for assisting and processing the annual chargeback of aged accounts.

The individual will serve as primary contact for creating and documenting training programs for staff and the campus community on Banner both in-person and online.

Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

Required Experience Experience Requirement 2
– 4 years of related experience.

Required Experience using Ellucian Banner student accounts.

Preferred Experience interpreting complex billing.

Preferred Experience handling difficult customer service issues.

Preferred Special Conditions Special Condition Requirement Must pass a background check.

Required Minimum Requirements Strong knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems.Ability to function effectively as a member of a team.Working knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures.Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making.Skills to provide coaching and mentoring to support staff.Ability to adapt to changing priorities.Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software.Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
