CSR/Veterinary Kennel Position

Balboa Pet Hospital is a family-owned AAHA
– accredited small animal practice providing preventative, surgical, dental and integrative care to a variety of patients: dogs, cats, pocket pets, rabbits, and exotic pets.

Receptionist Responsibilities –

Ability to operate multiple phone lines, schedule appointments, accurately process and post credit and cash transactions, greet clients and weigh patients, maintain appropriate records, capable of computer system proficiency, fill prescriptions (with technician directions), compassionate, sympathetic and professional during high stress situations, excellent communication skills both written and oral, ability to diffuse potential client problems, field client questions appropriately, adhere to hospital policies.*

Kennel Attendant
– Animal Care and Cleaning Responsibilities –

Helping in animal restraint, provide food/ water, exercise, administer medication, bedding comfort and bathing, maintain hospital cleanliness and appearance inside and outside of facility, cleaning surgical equipment and room, follow a daily checklist task of vacuuming, mopping, changing garbage, laundry, cage maintenance, replenish supplies, etc., knowledge of contagious disease and isolation protocol, maintaining high standard of patient care and assisting the assistant, technicians and doctors in any way asked.*

Requirements for the this Position:
Ability to follow directions with and without supervision
Ability to lift objects or pets at least 40 lbs without assistance, over 40 lbs with assistance.
Ability to recognize certain behaviors in animals.
Ability to learn specialized computer programs.
Ability to learn and understand medical terminology and minor procedures
Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Ability to multitask with attention to details.

Personal Requirements :
Minimum of 18 years old.
Genuinely enjoys working with animals, and is able to deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain.
Can stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis.
Well spoken and approaches their duties in a mature nature.
Is experienced in team working approach and works well with all levels of hospital team members.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00
– $24.00 per hour
