The Continuous Improvement Tech Support will assist hog production leadership on the execution of CVFF’s Training Program with emphasis on performance and process execution improvement. Be a resource to identify system opportunities and work with farm Teams to improve them. Communicate Mission, Vision and Core Values to ensure execution of systems-based strategy. Establish team excellence in setting priorities, making timely decisions, planning, and managing through systems. Expand capability and capacity of the team by driving development of individuals, training, coaching and motivating others.

Training and Development – Time allocation 40%
- Facilitate production change and improvement at the farm level, reducing variation on process execution
- Serve as an additional resource for our largest areas of opportunity on the farms
- Train on how to review and interpret production and financial data and identify sources of information
- Work with SOP owners, Service and farm team to develop SOPs needed in improvement plans to promote consistency
- Serve as a consultant when policies and processes are defined/ redefined (CI, SOPs)
- Help to identify main training need areas and provide support for managers and team leaders as needed to conduct training
- Create training tools and materials, to be incorporated into our SOP manuals
Process Verification – Time Allocation 20%
- Review progress on training plans for Team Members under Step Plan.
- Verify Readiness Level on individual tasks described on training tracker, during and/or after Step Plan Certifications.
Continuous Improvement – Time allocation 20%
- Assisting with Continuous Improvement Leadership Development and Change Management
- Utilize Continuous Improvement tools and teach/encourage others to use them as well
- Assist in development of Continuous improvement training materials and in troubleshooting and executing continuous improvement on farm
- Work with Sow leadership team to develop and execute plan and report back feedback on plan progress
- Engage the team in problem solving on the farm to produce an action plan (A3 document)
- Promote and facilitate effective meetings
- Serve as a consultant for on farm projects, and review progress
Strategic Planning & Organization – Time allocation 20%
- Serve as a resource for others involved in on farm projects (MTs, Summer Interns, etc.)
- Sharing solutions across the company
- Participate in initiative planning discussion
- Participate in Weekly Sow Production Meeting
- Participate in farm team meetings as needed
- Participate in Quarterly Manager’s meeting as needed
Travel Requirement: 41 – 70%
Working Conditions:
- Blend of both field and office environments.
- Field work involves exposure to dust, noise, odors, and livestock.
- Occasional over night travel required.
- Position requires driving vehicles, which requires valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- Animal Science Degree is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience within the industry is preferred
- Analyze complex production and performance problems and make timely, high quality decisions
- Learning agility, dealing with ambiguity, and adaptation to a rapidly changing business environment
- Organization, planning, priority setting, and complex project management
- Using computer software tools such as Microsoft Office and PigKnows
- Animal science as applied in modern pig production systems
