DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY

This position will be part of the Power Delivery Operations Support, Compliance Support team.

This team is responsible for providing compliance support for our customers: The GPC Transmission Control Center, Georgia Integrated Transmission System (ITS) participants and other areas across GPC Power Delivery.

The successful candidate will work directly with a variety of customers which will require excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service, time management, learning agility and organizational skills.

NOTE: This position will be filled in the P&C Field Services Test Engineer/Analyst family at Level 4,5, or 6 Exempt.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Day-to-Day, the engineer/analyst will perform functional tasks including providing application and compliance support which includes maintaining PCFS inventory in STOMP (MAXIMO in future), Workman projects and tasks, and maintenance of O&M and Capital work orders.

Also, the successful candidate will analyze historical data in STOMP and Workman to identify trends, provide evidence for compliance and enhancing our programs.

  • Responsible for interacting with the users to complete their workplan activities.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation pertaining to support responsibilities and tasks.
  • Collaborate with other Operating Companies and Business Units to improve associated work processes for alignment.
  • Maintain technical proficiency and support the knowledge sharing approach within the team.
  • Build and establish productive relationships with customers and communicate effectively to understand and integrate their needs in daily functions of the team.
  • Model and support employee led safety culture and human performance initiatives.
  • Support projects/committees in Power Delivery and across Southern Company as required.

EDUCATION AND JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience providing front line end-user support to multiple user groups is preferred.
  • Experience providing support and troubleshooting applications is a plus.
  • Strong computer and communication skills are preferred.
  • Proven high degree of accuracy and quality work results required.
  • Power Delivery (Distribution or Transmission) and/or Technology Organization (TO) experience is a plus.
  • Asset Management system (STOMP/TEAMS) knowledge is a plus.
  • Field Routine Testing experience is a plus.
  • Compliance experience is a plus.
  • Strong computer and communication skills are preferred.
  • Proven high degree of accuracy and quality work results required
