If you’re an individual who wants to help low to moderate income families in CT to pay for childcare costs, consider joining United Way of CT as a Care4Kids Client Services Representative.As part of the Care4Kids Contact Center team, you will provide clients with information about eligibility requirements, application procedures and status, and you’ll document all contacts.Classroom training provided.

The Hours
: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (3rd Thursday of every month) (Full-Time)

The Pay & Benefits: $16.50 per hour (pay grade 11, $14.06 through $18.28)

Spanish- or Portuguese-speaking applicants who are hired and pass certification will get an additional $.75 per hour (an additional $1.50 per hour for both languages).

After job training, position will be hybrid (in office and remote).

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED required with a minimum of two years’ experience in a customer service field required.
  • Minimum of one year’s office experience involving use of telephone and computer.
  • Prior experience demonstrating strong computer and phone skills strongly preferred.
  • Previous Contact Center experience desirable.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications required.
  • Ability to handle a high call volume in a fast-paced Contact Center environment.
  • Ability to diffuse difficult situations while handling calls.
  • Ability to follow strict guidelines in regard to verification and authorization.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in day-to-day duties.
  • Solid written and verbal communication, listening, organization and priority setting skills.
  • Strong customer focus in all tasks and activities, even while under pressure.
  • Solid problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work and produce in a team environment.
  • Ability to relate well with people from diverse groups.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to perform job with integrity and values consistent with the UWC Mission.
