Notifies appropriate department(s) or person of patient progress.
Deescalates any patient conflicts that may occur and handles those conflicts by adhering to the policies and mission of facility.
Follows department escalation process and reports any issues to the Imaging Support Supervisor and/or Manager that may occur during shiftReviews, facilitates and validates requests for imaging records for patients and/or physician offices.
Releases records in accordance with all HIPAA, federal and state laws related to release of information, and also memos patient account appropriatelyMay Research scripts, previous forms, insurance cards, orders, and changes and cancels exams accordingly.
Uses scheduling program to research exams scheduled for patients and reschedules as neededRegisters patients as they arrive to the department (where required) using facilities procedures and adhering to the PFS standards.
Completes registrations in a timely manner.
Follows through on all registration screens to complete process and collects co-payment as needed at time of service adhering to PFS standards and guidelines.
Scans all paperwork into system.
Assists coworkers as neededProficiently uses office equipment with care and knows how to operate printers, fax, computers, scanners, film printers, image importing and exporting equipment and softwareAttends department meetings consistently (and any other meetings as requested) and promotes positive dialogue with respect to department objectives.
Listens and is responsible to understand all agenda items.
Responsible to read meeting minutes or handouts when unable to attendReleases film/exams to patients and/or physician’s office utilizing proper sign out process.
Prints patients’ records for release internally and externally always adhering to HIPAA and/or established guidelines [Records]May document received communication from technologists and any relayed communication from Radiologists to the appropriate area in systemMay Communicate results with Physicians, Physicians’ offices, and other clinical personnel for the “call results list” on a continuous (24/7) basis, including system downtimePerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsWhat You Will Need:High School Graduate or EquivalentCustomer Service/Consumer Access/Patient Registration experiencePreferred: Previous radiology medical background Job Summary:The Imaging Support Representative will engage customers and staff to enhance their experience.
The primary focus will be meeting/exceeding customer needs.
