Job Title: Bi-Lingual (English and Spanish Fluent) Wireless Field Construction Manager/TrainerFLSA Status: Full-Time ExemptSalary Grade/Level/Family/Range: Salary/ $55,000 $85,000 Reports to: Operations Manager or General Partner Travel: Up to 50% travel is required.
Out of the area travel and overnight stay is expected Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 7:00am to 6pm.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Summary/ObjectiveThe Construction Manager & Trainer is Responsible for supervision and management of field crews for assigned Client Project as well as Accountable for managing the overall field performance, including scope, cost, safety, quality, schedule, implementation, and customer satisfaction.
Essential FunctionsMust be Comtrain Train the trainer certified or willing to be certified and train / re-certify tower crews.Serve as single-point of contact between project management and construction execution.Provide oversight during construction on all assigned construction projects.Direct and supervise all tower and civil foreman working on your assigned projects and provide leadership and guidance for crew members.Provide supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports.Assure that we have the correct level and talent of in house and subcontractors to maintain our construction schedules and level of work.Perform bid walks, evaluate site conditions relative to scope of work and out of scope work and prepare cost estimates.Work with Field Construction Leads to develop detailed material lists and scope of services lists from RFDS’s and engineered drawings.Report project status and performance data as required to management.Review project costs for accuracy of time, materials and subcontractors.Order all rental equipment needed for projects and ensure it is returned in a timely fashion.Comply with carrier specifications on all site construction by detailed coordination, review and approval of all documentation including but not limited to construction reports, grounding reports and as-builts.Procure and provide all carrier materials for a project to a site by timely and accurately specifying required materials and coordinating with internal/external individuals as required.Monitor and report performance of projects by ensuring full utilization of tracking tools and reports, observation of and attendance at progress meetings, and direct interaction with personnel and management for feedback.Ensure permitting, inspections and code compliance are completed as needed for each assigned project.Site & Crew Safety, OSHA10, OSHA30Manage Field Crews/ TechniciansWilling/ able to travel as-neededTrain/Retrain, Certify/Re-Certify crews as needed and add two new crews per month to the Versacom roster.
Assist with Sourcing of new sub-con local crews Certs verification Safety Equipment and Tools verification Competency Verification Review NTPs Attend Daily Construction Calls with Customer and sub-consSite Walks-Including completion of SW Form-DFW Market CR identification and pass to PM Field Management of Crews Mileage Hours Productivity Quality Safety Closeout Packages, VCOP Approval Materials identification and ordering Crane ordering and scheduling with LL Assist with Estimates and Pricing Change order & pricing to escalate to PM Generate Construction Plans, Schedules Provide mid-day and EOD reporting on all sites Other Activities as required.
Tower Project Pricing and Estimates VCOP Review and Invoicing Obtain Invoice pdf from Accounting and attach in Customer SystemsSubmit Notarized Release of Lien with Invoice in Customer System CompetenciesProblem Solving/Analysis.Customer/Client Focus.Decision Making.Project ManagementCommunication Proficiency.Teamwork Orientation.Required Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in construction or engineering, or similar field experience in telecommunications construction management is preferred.3 years’ experience as a Construction Manager.7 years relevant Wireless and Telecommunications industry experience.Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.Strong analytic ability and acute attention to detail.Strong decision making ability.Commitment to excellence and high standards.Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytic skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position manages all project managers of the department and is responsible for leadership, performance management and hiring of the employees within its department.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment 50% of the time.
This position is required to make frequent field visit 50% of his/her time and is subjected to working outside in remote locations in hot, warm, cold and rainy environments.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
