Sr Construction Engineer/Project Manager for Maritime & Coastal

We are committed to solving the world’s biggest challenges in the areas of water, energy and urbanization. GHD is looking for a Senior Construction Engineer/Project Manager to join our growing practice and work from any of our Central Coast or Bay Area, CA offices.

As a Senior Construction Engineer you will assist with the engineering design, evaluation and construction of maritime & coastal (M&C) and other infrastructure projects.  This includes the support for design, management, and construction management for offshore, nearshore and onshore projects.  Such projects may include coastal structures, harbors, marinas, ports, boat ramps, dredging, beach nourishment, rock revetments, seawalls, pipelines, municipal infrastructure and other land-based improvements in connection with the coastal construction.

Additionally, this role will have an infrastructure focus, and you will assist with the engineering design, evaluation, and implementation for a wide array of projects in Maritime and Coastal Engineering and Construction Management.

  Responsibilities to include but are not limited to: Ability to manage construction team of resident engineers, inspectors, administration and sub-consultants on multiple projects of varying disciplines Supporting pursuit/proposal efforts, developing scope schedule budget Provide all aspects of Construction Management (CM) including constructability review, pre-bid and bid support, project startup, inspection, quality assurance and control, management of RFIs, submittals and other project documents, payment application change order management, schedule analysis, manage subs, project closeout and other typical CM tasks Manage multiple projects simultaneously Management internal project financials, including accounts, analyze progress and financial data to generate timely and accurate forecasts to support performance status reporting Establish and maintain effective client relations to achieve active cooperation, prompt payment and additional work opportunities Proactively coach, train and motivate project teams; manage oversight of the project team and maintain project requirements for safety, quality, productivity to ensure they are maintained throughout the duration of the project The ideal candidate would possess the following skillset: Ability to act as a team player, cooperative with other staff with open sharing of information and knowledge Build rapport with others.

Shows ability to influence with or without formal authority Ability to handle high performance environments Sound judgment, decisiveness, and self-motivated Ability to travel to meet project needs Knowledge of maritime and coastal construction means and methods Experienced in construction trades and equipment operating Results-oriented leadership style, ability to participate on construction management teams and maintain projects within a defined scope, budget & schedule High ethical standards, committed to delivering high quality work Develop and maintain excellent Client relationships Develop and maintain excellent internal relationships, utilizing GHD’s global internal network of professionals Pursue project work i.e.

assist with and manage proposals and statement of qualifications Key Requirements:  B.S.

Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar field 5-10 years relevant industry related construction management experience, with a strong emphasis on maritime and coastal construction  Civil PE is highly desirable Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D, proficient is desirable Knowledge of modeling and design software as applicable Well-developed communication skills
