Grondin and Sons is seeking a proven leader to join their growing team as a Safety Coordinator.

As one of New England’s premier construction companies and a leader in heavy highway, commercial site and other earth moving projects, R.J.

Grondin & Sons is looking for someone to uphold the company’s standards of quality and customer satisfaction while safely completing projects on schedule and within budget.

The right candidate will have excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills and show a commitment to the health and safety profession.

Primary Responsibilities: Work with the Project Superintendent and foreman to monitor construction safety.

Manages the safety performance on each job site.

Develop strong working relationships with site supervision and crew members to help administer an industry leading safety program.

Work closely with the director of safety to develop new safety initiatives while managing the existing expectations of a safe working environment.

Perform safety audits and inspect worksites, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure safety regulation compliance.

Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes.

Develop project objectives and goals focused on safety Investigates accidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries for root cause, install preventive measures and monitor return to work activities.

Supports the safety and health culture for all stakeholders Must be a self-starter Desired Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 1 -3 years of relevant experience Must have valid drivers license and be insurable by the company OSHA 30 Construction and/or general industry certified along with additional related training and certifications Strong interpersonal skills (tact, motivation, diplomacy) Able to administer safety protocols on multiple projects Excellent written and Oral communication skills Good presentation skills Benefits Our excellent benefits program includes: 401(K) Retirement Plan Health/Dental/Vision Insurance Holiday Pay Earned Time Off Travel Allowance Direct Deposit Safety Equipment Allowance Safety Training Life Insurance Short-term and Long-term Disability Insurance We strive to provide a work/life balance by working close to home.
