Pt. Tm. Plumbing Inspector Construction Code Dept.-Eaton CountyJOBEffective February 1, 2022, employees will be eligible for a $1,500 recruiting stipend after 6 months of employment with the County and be eligible for $250 monthly retention stipend thereafter through January 31, 2023.Enforces the Eaton County Plumbing Code by reviewing plans for proposed projects and performing inspections during construction. Process and investigates all plumbing code violations. Provides information on the codes to builders, architects and homeowners. Assists the Prosecutor’s Office with case preparation for all legal action required to enforce the plumbing code.Position will be posted until filledEXAMPLE OF DUTIESConducts inspections of plumbing construction for new and retrofit projects for compliance with the Eaton County Plumbing Code. The projects include single family, agricultural, industrial and commercial projects.Conducts plan reviews of proposed projects. Verifies code compliance on the plans and in the specifications.Processes correction notices/violations. Issues stop work orders, oversees the enforcement process from discovery of a violation through the required legal action and final corrections.Reviews all permit applications for compliance with the requirements of the State and County codes (i.E. contractor’s information, contracts, work specified and correct fees).Answers code questions from the general public, contractors, architects and local governmental units.
